This past weekend was beyond amazing. My dear friend Loren Ridinger gave away Python Loren Hobo in Royal Blue Matte during The Market America World Conference in Miami. 25,000 people from all over the world attended the event. Eva Longoria was also there. I had the opportunity to thank her again for carrying my handbags.

Adriana Meets Nina

I had the pleasure of meeting Nina Garcia, the Fashion Director at Marie Claire Magazine and judge on the reality program Project Runway at The Fashion Group International Rising Star Awards Luncheon in New York City. I am a big fan of Nina. She is from my same home town, Barranquilla. I really admire her because she started from the bottom in the fashion industry and because of her talent, style and discipline made it to where she is now. I have to say that she is really sweet!

Adriana Castro Python Meissa Hobo in Alabama...

Miami is so cold today that I decided to stay home and read all the unread e-mails I had sitting in my inbox. It's crazy how they pile up so fast. During the week, it's very hard to reply to all of them because I have the design duties that take a lot of my time. But I am glad that I have the weekends to read and respond all my e-mails and write my blog posts.

I am sure all of you are wondering who is the beautiful girl from the picture. Well, her name is Ashley and she is one of our beloved and loyal customers. She sent me this picture today; she is carrying our Python Meissa Hobo in Natural Matte. Ashley lives in Connecticut but this picture was taken in Alabama, where she was vacationing during the Holidays.

2010 Color of the Year: Turquoise

Pantone announced recently Turquoise is the Color of the Year for 2010. Surprisingly, our Spring 2010 collection has so many styles in these tones. For instance, here you see our Crocodile Sophia Tote in a beautiful, luminous Turquoise hue.

Since I was a child, Turquoise has been one of my favorite colors. I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia so I am sure my tropical surroundings influenced my color preferences. Turquoise inspires thoughts of tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same restores our sense of wellbeing. It is also believed to be a protective talisman. New Year: New Adriana Castro Handbag!

I love when customers send me pictures carrying Adriana Castro Handbags. I love it even more when they actually take pictures with their Blackberry or iPhone (this shows they can't wait to get home to download the pics). Take a look at this picture. Her name is Sandra, and besides being a loyal customer and follower, she is also one of my best friends. She starts the New Year with a new handbag and this year she chose the Crocodile Coco Clutch in Yellow Glazed. I love the yellow tone; it means joy and happiness, so it's a great start!
